§ 10.28.030. Careless driving.

    Any person who shall operate, drive or halt any vehicle in such a manner as to indicate a careless or heedless disregard for the rights or safety of the operator of said vehicle, or others, or in such a manner as to endanger, or be likely to endanger the operator of said vehicle or any other person or the operator's vehicle or the property of others, is guilty of the offense of careless driving.

    B.

    This section shall apply to the operation of any motor vehicle on public or private streets, highways, roads, sidewalks, roadways, parking lots, driveways, alleys, and yards in the corporate limits of the city.

    C.

    Every person convicted of violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished for first conviction thereof by a fine of not more than two hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than ten days or by both such fine and imprisonment; a second such conviction within one year thereafter such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than twenty days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
